Alprostadil Injection
Alprostadil is an injectable drug, indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Alprostadil is only available to buy from Adam Health for patients who have used it before, and been shown in person by a doctor or nurse how to administer it. If you have not used it before and been shown how to use it, you must see your doctor in person and have a prescription.
How does Alprostadil Injections work?
Alprostadil works in a comparable way to a hormone present in your body called prostaglandin E1 (PGE1). This hormone is responsible for the easing and dilation of blood vessels, which in cases of ED, can become constrictive and hinder erectile performance.
After being injected into the base of the penis, alprostadil encourages these blood vessels to dilate, allowing for easier circulation and increased erectile function.
