The Science

Adam Sensor Sleep.png

Every healthy man experiences 3-5 erection episodes (lasting in total 1.5 to 3h) during sleep.

This is your body’s way so as to keep the erection mechanism healthy by providing highly oxygenated blood to the erectile tissue.

Conversely, impaired night erections means reduced tissue oxygenation, increased penile fibrosis (formation of scar tissue in the penis) and further worsening of night erections. This creates a vicious circle, which results in progressive erectile dysfunction (ED).

Abnormal night erections can also be a very important overall health warning linked to Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes & Hormonal Issues

Our sensor allows you to track and improve your night erections and break the vicious circle of ED or pro-actively monitor your night erections so as to prevent any future issues.

How It Works

The Adam Sensor is a ring-like device that you wear at the base of your penis just before going to bed. The sensor is small, compact and completely non-obstructive so after a few minutes you will not even notice that you are wearing it.

While you are asleep the sensor continuously monitors changes in penile tumescence (the engorgement of the penis) and wirelessly transmits the data to the Adam mobile app, installed on your phone. When you wake up (hopefully after 8h) you simply end the measurement and remove the sensor.

Our smart algorithms then analyse the data and our app produces a report with the results of the measurement.

What You Can Track

Number Of Erection Episodes

Gif Erections.gif

During a good night's sleep most men will experience 3-5 erections episodes. So if you have less than 3 or no erection episodes then this is something that you might want to explore further.

Total Erection Time

Gif Clock.gif

The sensor tracks a second marker for erection health, the total duration of all recorded erection episodes. Most men will have at least a total erection time of 75min after a full nights sleep (7-8 hours). The longer your erection time, the better so this is a great metric to track and try to improve over time.

Erection Episode Quality

For each erection episode we provide you with a % value reflecting the erection quality of the detected episode. The erection quality is calculated by dividing the average tumescence level during the erection episode by the maximum tumescence level recorded during the measurement. In general, we consider erection episodes with a greater than 80% erection quality to be valid.
